Adrenaline spikes at night

As the title says, I am struggling with elevated adrenaline during night. Ever since I started using progesterone, my adrenaline spikes during the night and consistently wakes me up around 2 a.m. After that, I have trouble falling back asleep. This has been going on for a few years now. During this time, I’ve tried zillion things, such as taurine, glycine, gelatin, ice cream, carbs before bed, protein before bed, theanine, GABA, melatonin, and dopa mucuna - that's all I can remember off the top of my head.

One thing that kind of helps is a few grains of NDT, which extends my sleep by an hour or two, but I still wake up with an elevated pulse and adrenaline response.

Has anyone else experienced this, and have you had any luck resolving it?

Try a couple of egg yolks in milk before bed. Works for me. I suspect it helps create acetylcholine to oppose adrenaline.

Nicotine also works along the same lines but I prefer the eggs.

I had heart palpitations and what I thought was angina at night a long time ago when I used some progesterone They were probably caused by adrenaline. I eventually read somewhere that progesterone could cause palpitations so I weaned myself off the progesterone. B vitamins and caffeine cause adrenaline spikes without the palpitations at night for me now so I avoid them.

Hm, yeah I haven't been taking progesterone for a while now but still I keep having adrenaline surges. Somewhat I struggle to understand why progesterone is causing for adrenaline to rise and how to properly mitigate it.
